Michigan Wolverines quarterback Shane Morris will seek a grad transfer, a source told ESPN.com on Tuesday. The fourth-year junior will graduate from the university and will have one year of eligibility remaining.
Morris will be able to play immediately at whichever school he chooses and, according to the source, was given permission to contact schools on Tuesday.
The former ESPN 300 quarterback committed to then coach Brady Hoke as a sophomore in high school and was touted as one of the top quarterbacks in the country.
Morris contracted mononucleosis his senior year of high school and never seemed to get back on track, having an underwhelming career for Michigan.
Seeing time in his first two seasons on campus, Morris took a redshirt in his third season, which is now allowing him to seek a graduate transfer.
The Wolverines will have starter Wilton Speight, John O'Korn, Brandon Peters, Alex Malzone and 2017 commitment Dylan McCaffrey on the roster in the 2017 season.
