Editor's note: Every Monday in Four Downs, we'll tally up the recent winners and losers from the football recruiting world to tip off your week in proper form. We'll set the table with the stories that need to be told and give you a leg up on the water cooler conversations around the office.
This week, the winners come from all over the map. Notre Dame came up big with a verbal pledge from one of the East Coast's most buzzworthy prospects, Elijah Hood, and the Georgia Bulldogs loaded two ESPN 150 stars on board a train that shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
The No. 2 prospect in the ESPN 150, Jabrill Peppers, seems to be down to four suitors and is in middle of taking unofficial visits to all four. The three schools that eventually lose out on Peppers will take it as a huge blow to their respective classes.
Elsewhere in Big Ten country, a big-time Illinois linebacker is looking to head south to play his college ball. The Midwest schools have to find a way to keep their top-tier talent at home if they want to compete.
