British fighter Joe Cummins says he is ready to get Shaun de Lange "out of the way" at EFC59 Carnival City, Johannesburg, and work his way up to a title shot.
Cummins' last fight was exactly a year ago at EFC49 where he lost to Themba Gorimbo from Zimbabwe by unanimous decision.
The 28-year-old striker landed on South African soil with three days to fight night and said he has no problem acclimatizing to the high altitude.
"Altitude has never affected my performances before, I'm never tired (when fighting in Johannesburg), I'm good for five rounds," Cummins said in an interview with TheClinchTV.
"I had a few injuries that's why the long layoff and just needed to get all healed up ... but now I'm good to go," he said.
Cummins (3-1-0) will step into the Hexagon against a confident Shaun de Lange (4-2-0) who comes off a Fight of the Night victory against Dino Bagattin at EFC58 in Cape Town.
"He (De Lange) is durable, but apart from that I'm better than him everywhere else," said Cummins. "I won't take anything away from him, he's a tough kid and always comes forward, so I think it will be one of those fights that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
"I just want to cut through the ranks. Shaun's next and I want to get him out of the way.
"Dino has also called me out and if he wants to go then we can. The belt is there, I'll fight whoever has it," he said.
