Two years after leaving Formula One, Mark Webber has been crowned World Endurance Drivers' Champion alongside team-mates Brendon Hartley and Timo Bernhard.

Driving the No.17 Porsche in the World Endurance Championship, Webber, Hartley and Bernhard held off the challenge from Audi's trio of Andre Lotterer, Marcel Fassler and Benoit Treluyer by five points after the title went down to the final round in Bahrain.

After retiring from the opening round of the season, the No.17 Porsche finished third at Spa, second at Le Mans and then won four races in a row at the next four rounds. Technical problems limited the car to fifth at the final round but it was enough to secure the title as Porsche team-mates Marc Lieb, Neel Jani and Romain Dumas took victory.

Porsche secured the manufacturers' championship before the final round with Audi second and Toyota third.
