Napoli defender Faouzi Ghoulam is likely to miss the rest of the season after suffering an anterior cruciate knee ligament tear during Wednesday's Champions League defeat to Manchester City.
Ghoulam was injured after half an hour of the 4-2 loss at the Stadio San Paolo and will undergo surgery on Friday, Napoli said.
A key player in Napoli's rise to the top of the Serie A table, the left-back has reportedly attracted interest from Premier League clubs including City and Liverpool.
He has one year left on his current deal at the Serie A club.
Christian Maggio came on for Ghoulam against City and played at right-back, with Elseid Hysaj moving to the left. Mario Rui is another possible long-term replacement.
