Schalke's Sead Kolasinac attracting interest from Manchester City - agent

Manchester City are scouting Sead Kolasinac, according to the Schalke left-back's agent, as they consider whether to make an €8 million move for the player.

City could face competition for Kolasinac, 22 -- who can also play as a central defender or in midfield -- from Roma, who wanted him in the summer.

The Bosnia-Herzegovina international's agent Gordon Stipic-Wipfler said his client is likely to leave the Bundesliga club in the winter transfer window, possibly on loan.

"I think Kolasinac will leave Schalke in January, but I don't know where he will go," Stipic-Wipfler told La Roma. "I have no certainty about who Kolasinac's next club will be; there's no favourite for me.

"Roma are a fantastic club and they have amazing fans. They are one of the biggest clubs in Europe and they have been keeping a close eye on the player, also last summer.

"It has to be said, though, that there are other great clubs from the Premier League interested in Kolasinac, like Manchester City for example.

"The player's been doing really well recently and last week he was named man of the match in Schalke's Bundesliga game. He's valued at €8m. Yes, I think [a loan deal from January] really is possible."

Aleksandar Kolarov has been City's regular left-back this season, having made 20 starts, and is under contract until 2017.

Gael Clichy has only begun one Premier League match in an injury-hit campaign but, as the Frenchman qualifies as a homegrown player, which City are short of, his future at the Etihad Stadium seems assured.

City manager Manuel Pellegrini also has a full complement of 17 non-homegrown players in his squad, meaning that if another arrived, he would either have to let one leave the club or omit them for the remainder of the season.
