The 30-year-old Montenegro international, who scored a total of 96 goals in 304 Serie A appearances, featured only 12 times in the league for the Bianconeri last season.
He was on the verge of joining Inter Milan in a swap deal for Fredy Guarin during the last winter break before that move collapsed. Inter president Erick Thohir responded to pressure from the Nerazzurri fans by calling off the move after both players had already completed medicals and agreed terms with their respective suitors.
Rennes winger Pitroipa, 28, has also agreed a move to Al-Jazeera.
The former Hamburg player had been linked with a move to Premier League side Stoke City but will now ply his trade in the United Arab Emirates.
