Marco van Ginkel has joined AC Milan on a season-long loan move from Chelsea.

Van Ginkel, 21, arrived in Lombardy on Sunday evening, following the same route taken by Fernando Torres from the Blues only a few days earlier.

It is reported by Sky Sport Italia that Torres called the Netherlands international to invite him to join him in Italy on Saturday.
Van Ginkel's private jet from Amsterdam landed at Milan's Linate airport late on Sunday, according to the Serie A club.
The midfielder, who was ruled out for much of last season with injury, then underwent his obligatory medical on Monday before completing the move, which could prove beneficial for all parties.

"I'm delighted to be here finally. Milan are a great club and many Dutch players have played here," Van Ginkel told Milan Channel on Monday morning. "I know Nigel De Jong from the national team and I've spoken with him about Milan and he's told me great things about this club.
"I'm a central midfielder who can defend, but I can also score goals. I'm a versatile player and I want to be important for the squad. I'm a team player. I want to play games, gain minutes and I think I'll have the opportunity to play those games here with Milan, in a great competition and as part of a very strong squad.
"I've not spoken to the coach [Filippo] Inzaghi yet, but I've spoken to Fernando Torres this last week. We spoke about Milan after he arrived."
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the agreement between the Blues and Milan foresees an up-front payment of 400,000 euros.
However, the Italian side will receive some of that money back if Van Ginkel returns to the West London having played at least 20 matches this season.
While that would see Chelsea earn less financially from the deal, they would benefit from the player returning with more match practice and potentially ready to feature more frequently for them next season.
Conversely, should the loan move not turn out to be so successful, Milan would be obliged to pay a further 200,000 euros next summer when the player returns, meaning the Blues would gain more financially, but less in terms of the player's development.
