Alan Pardew has support of Newcastle dressing room, says Daryl Janmaat

Newcastle full-back Daryl Janmaat has insisted manager Alan Pardew has the full support of those in his dressing room after insisting no one inside the club wants the under-fire coach to leave.

Pardew has come in for persistent abuse from Newcastle supporters after failing to pick up a win in his first seven Premier League games of the season, while his overall record in 2014 is less than impressive.

Yet summer signing Janmaat has spoken out in favour of his boss and insisted the animosity towards Pardew from the Newcastle supporters is not be replicated among the players.

"We do not want him to get sacked, we want him here," the Dutch international defender is quoted in the Daily Mirror. "He is good for us and we are fighting for him. I don't listen to what the fans are chanting, I focus on playing the game."

Janmaat claims he is enjoying his time at Newcastle and stressed the commitment shown by the players to come from behind in recent games against Hull and Swansea confirms the backing for the manager is strong.

"You cannot say there is any lack of effort," he added. "We fight really hard for each other and that has to be one of the basics, and if we had had a little bit of luck late on we could have won it [against Swansea on Saturday]."

Meanwhile, ESPN sources said that Newcastle have been given a green light by planning officials to build a new state-of-the-art training base in Benton, which will replace the club's current base at Darsley Park.

Manager Pardew has been a vocal support of the plans to build the training complex as he believes it will help the club attract top level talent to Newcastle and put the club on par with Premier League rivals who have built new training bases in recent seasons.
