Former Liverpool midfielder Jermaine Pennant has linked up with Indian Super League (ISL) side FC Pune City.
Pennant, who played in the 2007 Champions League final with the Reds, was released by Stoke at the start of the year and had been without a club since.
He has now joined Pune City as a replacement for Colombian Omar Andres Rodrigues Martinez, who was forced to withdraw due to illness.
Pennant's move was confirmed by the Indian Super League in a statement released to Press Association Sport.
The statement read: "FC Pune City have signed English footballer and former Arsenal and Liverpool player Jermaine Pennant as a replacement to injured Colombian Omar Andres Rodrigues Martinez.
"Omar Rodrigues will not play the rest of the Hero Indian Super League season due to a kidney complaint.''
Pennant, who joined Arsenal for 2 million pounds from Notts County aged just 15, had spells at Leeds, Birmingham and Watford, as well as turning out for Spanish side Real Zaragoza.
Pune, who boast David Trezeguet as their marquee player, are currently fifth in the inaugural ISL season.
