Former Colombia goalkeeper Faryd Mondragon, who became the oldest player to play at a World Cup in 2014, was taken to hospital on Tuesday suffering from what reports said was a "metabolic imbalance."
The Valle del Lili hospital in Cali, Mondragon's hometown, said he was "in good condition and under medical observation," although it did not say when he might be released.

Major Colombian newspapers reported that the 44-year-old had attempted suicide and had posted a message on Instagram which has since been deleted.
"No one sees your tears, no one notes your sadness or your pain, but everyone points out your errors," he wrote.
"I am going to be the judge of my life, because I am tired of having other people judge me and condemn me without giving me a chance to defend myself."
The reports said Mondragon had taken a large dose of antidepressants.
At the age of 43 years and three days, he beat Roger Milla's record as the oldest player to play in a World Cup finals match during Colombia's 4-1 win over Japan.
The former Real Zaragoza, Galatasaray and Metz goalkeeper has since retired from football and has been working as an analyst.
