Valencia boss Gary Neville signs Atletico's Guilherme Siqueira on loan

Gary Neville has made his first signing as Valencia coach, bringing in Atletico Madrid reserve left-back Guilherme Siqueira on an 18-month loan deal.

Siqueira, 29, will take the place of Lucas Orban, who has gone on loan to Levante until the end of the season.

The former Udinese, Granada and Benfica defender had been linked with teams including Newcastle and Juventus, but his move to the Mestalla was confirmed in a statement on the official Valencia club website.

"Valencia have agreed the signing of Guilherme Siqueira on loan from Atletico Madrid," the statement said. "The player joins the club through to June 30, 2017.

"He successfully completed a medical on Monday at the Ciudad Deportiva de Paterna.""

Valencia have also been linked with a move for Getafe attacking midfielder Pablo Sarabia, who is out of contract at the end of the season and had previously interested Watford.

Sarabia's future may be connected to that of Argentine midfielder Rodrigo De Paul, 21, who could leave Valencia on loan on deadline day.

Meanwhile, Neville has said he is not concerned about his position at the Mestalla despite his side suffering their "most disappointing result of the season."

His winless La Liga run as Valencia boss stretched to eight games on Sunday as his side were beaten 1-0 by relegation-threatened Sporting Gijon, leaving them five points above the relegation zone.
