Hertha Berlin striker Vedad Ibisevic suffered a facial fracture during his team's 2-2 draw with Hannover in the Bundesliga on Friday.
Club doctor Ulrich Schleicher says an orthodontist diagnosed on Saturday that Ibisevic has a fractured left maxillary sinus. No operation is planned for now.
Hertha say the Bosnia-Herzegovina forward is "making every effort to be available for the game against his former team Hoffenheim on the coming weekend."
Ibisevic, who scored early against Hannover, sustained the injury in a collision after only a quarter-hour but still finished the game.
Hertha are third in the Bundesliga, the last automatic qualification spot for the Champions League, with five games remaining.
