MADRID -- Sevilla defender Benoit Tremoulinas is out for the rest of the season and will miss the Europa League final because of a ruptured meniscus on his left knee.
The club says the injury was diagnosed after tests on Friday. The France international, expected to be sidelined for about four weeks, will undergo surgery next week.
Two-time defending champions Sevilla will play Liverpool in the final in Basel on May 18.
The Spanish club recently also lost Denmark midfielder Michael Krohn-Dehli, who broke his left knee and will be out of action for at least seven months after undergoing surgery.
Krohn-Dehli was injured last week in the first leg of the semifinals against Shakhtar Donetsk, while Tremoulinas got hurt in the return game on Thursday.
