Watford have signed Daryl Janmaat from Newcastle United on a four-year deal.
Watford had faced competition from West Ham for Janmaat, 27, but the Hornets won out with Walter Mazzarri securing the right wing-back he has been searching for this summer.
The Netherlands international leaves Championship side Newcastle after two years at the club, having arrived from Feyenoord for £5 million in 2014.
Janmaat, who made 77 appearances in total for Newcastle, started the club's opening two games of the season, but did not feature in their following three.

"The club wishes to place on record its thanks to Daryl for his efforts during his time at Newcastle. He leaves with our best wishes for his future at Watford," a Newcastle statement read.
Janmaat, who has won 27 caps for Netherlands, made five appearances at the 2014 World Cup as his nation finished third in Brazil.
