Newcastle United are lining up a move for Burnley striker Andre Gray, sources close to the North East club have told ESPN FC.
Gray is entering the final year of his contract at Burnley and has yet to agree a new deal at Turf Moor, alerting a number of clubs, including Newcastle.
Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez is keen to bolster his forward options this summer as he prepares for life back in the Premier League and Gray is a top target.
Gray scored nine goals for Burnley this season in his first campaign in the Premier League and Benitez sees him as being an ideal partner for Newcastle's top scorer Dwight Gayle.
Burnley are reluctant to lose Gray, but they are wary that the player could run down his contract and leave on a free transfer next summer.
