Jermaine Pennant joins Jamie O'Hara and Paul Konchesky at Billericay Town

Jermaine Pennant, who became Singapore football's biggest name import last year, is the latest former Premier League player to join ambitious non-league club Billericay Town.

The former Arsenal, Liverpool and Stoke winger has been without a club since leaving League One Bury at the end of last season. He has joined the Isthmian Premier Division side, along with former Wolves defender Kevin Foley and West Ham youth product Leo Chambers.

The trio join former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O'Hara and West Ham and Fulham defender Paul Konchesky at the Essex club.

The deals were announced by owner Glenn Tamplin -- a businessman who is hoping to take the club up three tiers to the Football League.

He said on Twitter: "BTFC big guns signed tonight Jermaine Pennant Kevin Foley Leo Chambers 3 premiership players now BTFC Players What a season this will be."

Pennant, 34, played the 2016 S.League season with Tampines Rovers. After a bright start, he had a disappointing season with the Singapore giants, who failed to win a trophy, before departing last October.
