Schalke sign Nabil Bentaleb to permanent deal from Tottenham

Tottenham midfielder Nabil Bentaleb has completed a permanent move to Schalke with a four-year deal, the clubs confirmed on Friday.

Bentaleb joined Schalke in August on a season-long loan, and the 22-year-old will now stay with the Bundesliga club until 2021.

"Even when I came to Schalke in the summer, it was my goal to play here as often as possible and convince the club to commit myself permanently," Bentaleb told Schalke's website. "The fact that this has now worked out and everything is perfect, feels great.

"It's good to have someone to trust you. The team of coaches, my teammates, the people responsible, the whole club have made it easy for me to feel at home with Schalke. I am happy to be part of the club."

Bentaleb has made 20 league appearances with four goals for Schalke this season.

An Algeria international, Bentaleb made his first-team Spurs debut in December 2013, then appeared in 26 games the following season before injuries cut his playing time at White Hart Lane.
