Rashad Evans-Tim Kennedy re-booked for UFC 206 in Toronto

The UFC has already re-booked a middleweight fight between Rashad Evans and Tim Kennedy for UFC 206 on Dec. 10 in Toronto.

The 185-pound bout was supposed to take place at UFC 205 on Saturday, however the UFC was forced to pull the fight after an issue came up with Evans' medicals with the New York State Athletic Commission.

According to sources, Evans was cleared by UFC doctors and the undisclosed issue is specific to New York requirements. The commission is new to overseeing professional mixed martial arts, as a near 20-year ban on the sport was lifted this year.

Evans (19-5-1) will be making his 185-pound debut. He is a former light heavyweight champion. Kennedy (18-5) is coming off a lengthy layoff, having not fought since September 2014.

A light heavyweight title fight between Daniel Cormier (18-1) and Anthony Johnson (22-5) is scheduled to headline UFC 206, which takes place at Air Canada Centre.
