A welterweight fight between former champion Robbie Lawler and Donald Cerrone is now official for UFC 213 on July 8 in Las Vegas.
UFC officials confirmed with ESPN.com on Wednesday that the 170-pound bout has been finalized. The UFC 213 pay-per-view is set to take place at T-Mobile Arena. A main event has not yet been announced.
UFC president Dana White told ESPN.com last month the promotion was targeting the bout, however signed contracts were not in place until recently.
The fight was originally supposed to take place at UFC 205 last November in New York, but Lawler (27-11) was forced to pull out. The 35-year-old hasn't fought since he lost his title to Tyron Woodley in June via first-round knockout.
Cerrone (32-8), meanwhile, has fought twice since November. He defeated Matt Brown at UFC 206 in December, before suffering a TKO loss to Jorge Masvidal the following month in Denver. A longtime lightweight, Cerrone is now 4-1 since moving up to welterweight.
Additionally, former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis will return to his previous division and take on Jim Miller at UFC 213.
The UFC also has finalized a UFC 213 bout agreement for a heavyweight matchup featuring Fabricio Werdum (21-6-1) and Alistair Overeem (42-15). Werdum also is a former champion.
Pettis (19-6) is coming off a failed attempt to capture the UFC's featherweight championship. The Milwaukee native dropped to the 145-pound division last summer and defeated Charles Oliveira via submission.
That victory set up a featherweight title fight between Pettis and Max Holloway, but Pettis was unable to make weight at UFC 206 in December and was declared ineligible to win the championship. He went on to lose the fight to Holloway via TKO.
Miller (28-9) is coming off a majority decision loss to Dustin Poirier in February. Prior to that loss, Miller had won three in a row.
