"Suga" Sean O'Malley is on the comeback trail.
The popular UFC bantamweight is eyeing a return to action at UFC 229 on Oct. 6 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, his manager Daniel Rubenstein told ESPN.
According to Rubenstein, O'Malley wants to fight Alejandro Perez on the card. Perez is coming off a unanimous decision win over Eddie Wineland last weekend at UFC Fight Night Boise.
O'Malley (10-0) most recently defeated Andre Soukhamthath via unanimous decision at UFC 222 in March. Following the fight, "Suga" had surgery on his injured foot, which has been healing according to plan, his team said.
Considered one of the most colorful and flashiest young fighters in the UFC, O'Malley is 2-0 inside the Octagon. Perez is unbeaten in his past seven fights.
