UFC adds five bouts to Conor McGregor-Khabib Nurmagomedov card

The UFC has officially added five new bouts to its UFC 229 pay-per-view event, set for Oct. 6 in Las Vegas, which will be headlined by the return of its biggest star in Conor McGregor.

A flyweight contest between title contenders Sergio Pettis (17-3) and Jussier Formiga (21-5) leads the way for the new additions to the card, which will take place at T-Mobile Arena.

Pettis is coming off a huge split-decision win against former title contender Joseph Benavidez in June. Formiga has won three of his past four fights.

Popular strawweights Michelle Waterson (15-6) and Felice Herrig (14-7) will square off at UFC 229.

Also announced: a light heavyweight contest between Ovince Saint Preux (23-11) and Dominick Reyes (9-0); a female bantamweight fight featuring Yana Kunitskaya (10-4) and Lina Lansberg (8-3); and a welterweight bout between Ryan LaFlare (14-2) and Tony Martin (13-4).

Earlier this week, UFC president Dana White told ESPN heavyweights Derrick Lewis (20-5) and Alexander Volkov (30-6) will square off in the co-main event.

McGregor (21-3) is scheduled to face undefeated lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov (26-0) in what is arguably the biggest fight in UFC history.
