Magomedov given lifetime suspension for doping

The United States Anti-Doping agency has issued UFC heavyweight Ruslan Magomedov a lifetime suspension for committing three anti-doping violations since September 2016.

USADA announced the lifetime ban on Monday. It effectively ends Magomedov's UFC career, which began in 2014 when he first signed with the promotion. The Dagestani heavyweight is 32 years old.

According to a USADA news release, Magomedov (14-1) tested positive for metabolites of an anabolic steroid on Oct. 10, 2018, which constituted his second anti-doping violation. He committed a third violation on Feb. 5, when he refused to submit an out-of-competition test altogether.

Magomedov previously served a two-year suspension from USADA for a failed drug test on Sept. 7, 2016.

Magomedov hasn't fought since October 2015. He was 3-0 in the UFC, with all three victories by way of decision.
