Bantamweight champion Eduardo Dantas and lightweight contender Paul Daley have been removed from Bellator's Nov. 2 card, the promotion announced Thursday.
Dantas was set to defend his title against Marcos Galvao in the Bellator 79 main event in Ontario, Canada, in his first fight since a knockout loss to Tyson Nam in August at Shooto Brazil 33.
But he was deemed not yet fully recovered from the first-round knockout.
"Eduardo was in the cage a couple of weeks ago and felt a little dizzy, a little nauseous," a Bellator spokesperson told ESPN.com. "We just felt it wasn't smart for Eduardo to get back in the cage now, so we're going to hold him off a little bit until he feels right."
Daley, a London native who trains in Nottingham, England, was removed from the card after experiencing difficulty resolving his visa issues. He was scheduled to face Kyle Baker.
"We didn't want to risk having him come over to Canada, get to the border and get denied," the spokesperson said. "We felt it was too big of a risk for a non-tournament fight. We might try to find him an opponent by the end of the year. If not, we will try to get him ready for the 2013 tournament on Spike TV in January."
In his most recent fight, Daley knocked out Rudy Bears in the first round on July 20 at Bellator 72 in Tampa, Fla.
Daley has a professional record of 30-12-2.
Thiago Santos will face Richard Hale in a heavyweight tournament semifinal bout in the Bellator 79 main event.
Featherweights Mike Richman and Shahbulat Shamhalaev are slated to meet in a tournament semifinal bout.
