Steve Nash will be the new head coach of the Brooklyn Nets. The news of the Hall of Fame point guard's four-year deal was a surprise to many around the basketball world.
Nash, 46, comes with no coaching experience but brings a strong relationship with Nets superstar Kevin Durant, which was formed when Nash was a consultant for the Golden State Warriors.
Brooklyn is hoping Nash's elite point guard skills can translate to the clipboard, and players, coaches and teams are wishing the Nets' new head coach the best of luck on social media.

Just to expand upon this since I was having a little fun. I love the Steve Nash hire. So much of coaching at this level is being a psychologist

I think Caris is the third star so that'd mean 4 rockstars in the building
Further roster construction will be interesting. https://t.co/a81mdwgdIw
Last year Steve Nash was working with Kevin Durant at the Lakers facility and I could see that they had a really good working relationship. With Steve's basketball IQ, he really knows what it takes for players to go to the next level.

Steve Nash is one of the best leaders and PGs our sport has had. He's always been awesome with me and my family too. Very happy for him and excited for the game!

BOLD move by Brooklyn but Steve Nash is one of basketball's greatest minds.
β Chiney Ogwumike (@Chiney321) September 3, 2020
star players respect him, he's been their mentor.
& this could be GREAT for Kyrie's game with passing... which means it's even greater for his teammates (especially KD.)
Most importantly, he's an ally.
Remember Mike D'Antoni offense came from Steve Nash! That was Nash's idea to play that fast pace different style of play.

Soooo Steve Nash is the new head coach of the @BrooklynNets ... glad I have my season tickets.
β Jay Williams (@RealJayWilliams) September 3, 2020
Definitely happy for Steve Nash but super disappointed in the @BrooklynNets. So many well qualified African American candidates and they get looked over by someone with no experience at all. The only reason they felt comfortable doing that is bc JV stayed onboard as the top asst.

Derek Fisher, Jason Kidd all got jobs right away because of 20 years of HIGH LEVEL BBall IQ. Please don't question Steve Nash's hire or make this about anything else.
