Everything you need to know ahead of the Women's World Cup

Twelve of the world's best teams are set to descend on Sydney for 10 high-octane days of basketball action with the Opals looking to add their 2006 World Cup gold with a second in front of a home crowd.

The second FIBA Women's World Cup to be hosted in Australia, the Opals have welcomed back basketball legend Lauren Jackson six years after her international tournament with several young players joining the mix.
