Panthers RB Cameron Artis-Payne arrested, charged with speeding

Carolina Panthers running back Cameron Artis-Payne has a July 15 court date after a weekend arrest on charges of speeding and reckless driving for allegedly going 102 mph in a 65 mph zone, according to North Carolina court records.

Artis-Payne was stopped at 1:30 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 85 in Gaston County, according to the court records. There were no other charges other than the traffic charges and there was no accident involved. Unsecured bond was set at $5,000.

Artis-Payne gained 183 yards and scored one touchdown on 45 carries last season. The Panthers started voluntary workouts Monday.
