Baltimore Ravens secondary coach Leslie Frazier was hired to be the Buffalo Bills' defensive coordinator, a league source told ESPN on Thursday.
Frazier and new Bills head coach Sean McDermott were assistant coaches on the Philadelphia Eagles staff from 1999 to 2002. The Ravens gave Frazier permission to interview for the promotion.
Frazier, 57, was the head coach of the Vikings from 2010 to '13, compiling a 21-32-1 record and leading Minnesota to a playoff berth in 2012.
This will mark Frazier's fourth time as an NFL defensive coordinator. He oversaw the defenses for the Cincinnati Bengals, Minnesota Vikings and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In one season with the Ravens, Frazier was instrumental in helping improve the defensive backfield. Baltimore ranked ninth in pass defense and had a league-high 18 interceptions.
