Titans activate WR Rishard Matthews from PUP list

The Tennessee Titans activated wide receiver Rishard Matthews from the physically unable to perform list on Sunday. Matthews has not been on the field since training camp opened on July 26.

The veteran posted 53 receptions for 795 yards and four touchdowns last season. He signed a one-year contract extension with the Titans last week. Matthews was set to become a free agent after this season.

Matthews figures to be one of the starting wide receivers along with Corey Davis. He adds a much needed veteran presence to the receivers group which includes Davis, Taywan Taylor, and Tajae Sharpe.

In a corresponding move, the Titans placed Michael Campanaro on injured reserve with an undisclosed injury.
