Boston Bruins, Ottawa Senators are hard to figure out these days

What do you need to know about last night's big stories? Scott Burnside gives us his take on the biggest and best.

That's a head-scratcher: I don't really get what's happening with the Boston Bruins or the Ottawa Senators, who met up in one of only two games Thanksgiving night. The Senators came up with a second straight big divisional win, beating the Bruins 3-1 after beating the Montreal Canadiens 4-3 on Tuesday. The Sens are in third place in the Atlantic, and much credit is due to goalie Craig Anderson, who continues to play outstanding hockey while his wife undergoes cancer treatment. He is 4-1-1 in his past six games. The Bruins continue to be a strangely one-dimensional team, and that dimension is named Tuukka Rask, who has 11 wins, one off the league lead. Offensively, though, the Bruins are struggling and are tied for 21st in goals per game. World Cup of Hockey hero Brad Marchand has one goal in his past eight games and his co-hero at the World Cup, Patrice Bergeron, has just three goals and five points in 17 games. Weird stuff indeed.
