Pittsburgh Penguins forward Chris Kunitz is sidelined because of a lower-body injury that coach Mike Sullivan said was expected to be "longer term."
Kunitz was replaced in the lineup by Josh Archibald, who was recalled from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for Sunday night's game against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Kunitz is the latest Penguin to go down with an injury. Center Evgeni Malkin missed his ninth straight game Sunday because of a shoulder injury, and forward Carl Hagelin was out for his 12th straight game because of a lower-body injury.
Defenseman Ron Hainsey, acquired from the Hurricanes at the trade deadline, returned Friday after missing seven games because of an upper-body injury.
Kunitz, 37, has nine goals and 20 assists in 71 games this season. He is a seven-time 20-goal scorer and is a free agent at the end of the season.
