The NLEX Road Warriors signed three of its frontcourt players to new deals on Wednesday, team sources confirmed to ESPN5.com.
NLEX inked big men J.R. Quiñahan, Michael Miranda, and Raul Soyud for the foreseeable future. The contracts of the trio had expired when the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup ended last December.
Details of the deals, however, were not made available by team management.
Quiñahan, a stretch five, shined for the Road Warriors during their stint inside the PBA bubble in Clark, Pampanga, recently, where the Cebuano slot man posted averages of 13.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 3.0 assists.
Soyud, on the other hand, posted his best conference numbers to date, norming 10 markers on 74% field goal shooting, 6.8 boards, and 1.1 dimes a game. He was also named one of six candidates for Most Improved Player.
Lastly, Miranda logged 6.7 points, complemented by 4.4 rebounds.
The team narrowly missed the postseason in the bubble, finishing with a 5-6 record.
NLEX head coach Yeng Guiao was pleased with the moves, calling them a "signal of appreciation" for the three players' past contributions to the franchise.
"We are looking forward to a better year over-all, not just improving our performance this coming season, coming back strong from the effects of the virus," said Guiao in a statement.
"Extending the contracts of our big men in JR, Mike and Raul signals our appreciation for their past contributions and trust in their ability to make [NLEX] more competitive this season. We will demand more from ourselves to make our supporters proud and happy by giving our best at every opportunity to compete. We thank our fans for their continued support through our journey to be the best," he added.
