Four third-round picks lead list of PBA unrestricted rookie free agents

A total of 42 out of 65 rookies drafted in the 46th PBA Season Rookie Draft have been given tender offers by their mother teams.

In a list obtained by ESPN5.com, 23 players selected in this year's proceedings were left unsigned and are now considered unrestricted rookie free agents. All players in the first and second rounds were handed offers.

A tender offer means that a team can keep the rights of a player that it has drafted. Players and their representatives will still have to negotiate guaranteed contracts.

Four players in the free agent pool were drafted in the third round. Leading the names are Dhon Reverente (No. 25 overall pick by Terrafirma), Loren Brill (No. 26 by NorthPort), Antonio Bonsubre (No. 28 by NLEX) and John Yasa (No. 33 by Meralco).

Five other players were left out by NorthPort in Marvin Moraga (No. 37), Carl Bryan Ravanes (No. 47), Seraj Elmejrab (No. 55), Jonico Rosales (No. 59) and Jed Mendoza (No. 61).

Terrafirma didn't extend offers to Michael Javelosa (No. 36), Immanuel Custodio (No. 46) and Terrence Tumalip (No. 54).

NLEX didn't sign three others as well: Jose Presbitero (No. 39), Joseph Alcantara (No. 49) and Alberto Torres (57).

Others who weren't given tender offers are Blackwater's Kim Bayquin (No. 48) and Jeson Delfinado (No. 56); TNT's Joel Yu (No. 45) and Martin Gozum (No. 53); Magnolia's Andoy Estrella (No. 41); Meralco's Luis Brill (No. 43); Rain or Shine's Philip Manalang (No. 50); and San Miguel's Luis Abaca (No. 60).

These players are now eligible to be signed by other teams and can also make rosters for the inaugural 3x3 season.

Last March 14, 86 players were deemed eligible for the PBA Draft. A record of 65 were then called after eight rounds.
