Falcons' Brooks Reed supports Pirates pitcher suspected to have cancer

Atlanta Falcons outside linebacker Brooks Reed expressed his support for Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Jameson Taillon, who underwent surgery Monday for suspected testicular cancer.

Reed, who wears No. 50 for the Falcons, posted an Instagram picture of himself in Taillon's No. 50 Pirates jersey with the message: "Repping the #50 extra hard today, we are with you all the way @j_taillon19!"

Taillon and Claire Petratis appear to be a couple, and Petratis is the sister of Reed's wife, Natalie. The two were in Los Angeles representing Reed when the Falcons played the Rams this past season.

Taillon, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2010 draft, is 2-1 this season in six starts with 30 strikeouts in 35-plus innings with an ERA of 3.31.
