Dez Bryant listed as questionable for Bengals game

FRISCO, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant did not practice but he did go through resistance training on Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Bryant was wearing an ice bag on his right knee as he continues to recover from a tibial plateau fracture. He did not practice last week, was listed as questionable and did not play against the San Francisco 49ers.

When the Cowboys announced Bryant’s injury, they said it could be up to three weeks before he returns. If he does not play, then Brice Butler would start at receiver for the second straight week.

Left tackle Tyron Smith is also listed as questionable but is close to returning after missing the last two games with a back injury. He was limited during three practices but there is confidence he will be available Sunday. His backup, Chaz Green, did not practice all week because of a sprained foot. While he is listed as questionable, he is unlikely to play.

Kicker Dan Bailey went through a limited portion of practice with his back injury and is also questionable. The Cowboys worked out kickers Robbie Gould, Kai Forbath and Aldrick Rosas on Friday and could look to sign one on Saturday as insurance if Bailey’s back flares up in the next 24 hours.

Orlando Scandrick is likely to miss his third straight game with hamstring strains to both legs. He did not practice the last two days and is also questionable.

Also listed as questionable are: running back Lance Dunbar (knee), defensive end Jack Crawford (shoulder), linebacker Andrew Gachkar (neck) and linebacker Mark Nzeocha (Achilles). Defensive end David Irving (concussion) and quarterback Tony Romo (back) have been ruled out.
