Letroy Guion files motion to recover seized property

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Letroy Guion still hasn't gotten his money and vehicle back that Starke, Florida, police seized when he was arrested in February, and the Green Bay Packers defensive tackle has filed a motion in court in an attempt to recover it.

According to a source, Guion filed a motion this week for a summary judgment in a Bradford County, Florida, court to recover the $190,028.81 and his 2015 Dodge Ram truck that was taken when he was arrested for felony possession of marijuana and a firearm.

Guion reached a plea deal in March to avoid prosecution.

The motion, according to a source familiar with the proceedings, claims that Guion's Eighth Amendment rights have been violated given that Guion has already paid the maximum penalty of $5,000.

Shortly after Guion paid the fine plus court costs, the Packers signed him to a one-year, $2.75 million contract.

Guion is expected to face a suspension from the NFL for violating the league's personal conduct policy.
