No. 3: Anthony Barr, LB, UCLA
2013 numbers: Finished with 65 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, forced five fumbles and recovered four.
Preseason ranking: No. 4
Making the case for Barr: Stanford coach David Shaw made the case for Barr in October when he said, "He’s the best defensive player we’ve probably seen in this conference the last few years. I don’t think it’s close." Not close? We'll go ahead and write that off as hyperbole, but the message was clear: Barr is a special talent. He's currently the No. 2 player on Mel Kiper Jr.'s Big Board
and some talent evaluators have him ahead of Jadeveon Clowney. Barr finished eighth in the country in tackles for loss and 18th in sacks. A consensus All-American, he was also named first-team All-Pac-12 for the second straight season.
