SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- The San Francisco 49ers retained a key depth piece last week when they re-signed linebacker Brock Coyle.
Coyle, 27, played an important role after injuries and changes at linebacker last season and served as a core special-teams player. As a reward, the Niners gave him a three-year, $8.5 million with $4.1 million in guarantees.
Included in the deal is a $2.1 million signing bonus as well as a fully guaranteed base salary of $900,000 in the first year.

Salary-cap charge: $2.05 million
Base salary: $900,000 (fully guaranteed)
Signing-bonus proration: $700,000

2019

Base salary: $2.05 million ($1.1 million guaranteed for injury only, becomes fully guaranteed on April 1, 2019)
