With the release of the ESPN 150 coming on Thursday, we take a look at the top 10 quarterbacks as well as take a quick look at the class as a whole.
Trending: Down
In numbers and quality, we do not feel this crop of QBs as a whole is as plentiful as in years past. However, there might actually be some late-blooming, underdeveloped prospects that down the line blossom into quality performers.
Toughest call: Where to slot the QBs
Considering it is a down year, the number of QBs in the ESPN 150 is low. With so few dual threats in the mix for the ESPN 150, Brandon Harris is someone who caused some debate about whether or not he should make the list. He's talented enough to belong and if he didn't make it in the initial release would be someone who could enter in the ESPN 150 in time. As for pocket passers, there isn't the usual contingent in the top 100 and there was plenty of discussion about who should be slotted where.
Quarterback hotbed: Oklahoma and Virginia
The Commonwealth features two passers in Wilton Speight and Caleb Henderson, and Oklahoma is home to David Cornwell and Justice Hansen. All four are among the top 10 quarterbacks in the country.
Under the radar: QB-PP J.J. Cosentino
Cosentino, a 6-foot-5, 220-pounder out of Pennsylvania, reminds us of Alabama QB AJ McCarron in terms of stature and skill set. He is also one of many tall pocket passers featured in this class as there are lots of 6-4 prospects in this class.
Your turn: Who's on your list?
After you read our list of the top 10 Class of 2014 quarterbacks, try your hand at ranking them.
Top 10 quarterbacks
1. QB-DT Deshaun Watson
Gainesville, Ga./Gainesville
College: Clemson
Watson is very reminiscent of Class of 2012 signal caller Jameis Winston, who signed with FSU, both in stature and style. Watson has good height and slender with better than average efficient movements. He possesses average strength at this stage, but with the upside to really bulk up. He is a very savvy and confident player with a nice feel for the game and a presence for what is going on around him. He's poised and calm.
