ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Recruitment is a process that's predicated on prospects becoming close with several coaching staffs. It's driven by relationships, and during the process most prospects forget that eventually most of these relationships will end.
For highly touted recruits such as Kyle Bosch (Wheaton, Ill./St. Francis), who are recruited by dozens of schools, they sometimes get to know four or five coaching staffs extremely well before making a final decision.
It means one phone call ends with a celebration, but four or five end with, "Thanks, but no thanks." And while that celebration is worth everything recruits go through, it doesn't make the other parts less trying.
