Too often when we talk about an athlete having ups, we're referring to a soaring basketball wing or a wide receiver leaping for a jump ball. But it's time to show some love to baseball players with hops -- one gifted youth baseball player in particular.
Meet Devin Avedissian, an 11-year-old player on the San Diego Force baseball club with some serious ups and diamond smarts. During a recent outing, an eventful sequence composed of a passed ball, followed by a fortuitous bounce and Avedissian motoring home from third base led to an incredible confrontation between him and the catcher at the plate.
Air Devin punctuated the amazing leap by sticking the landing while simultaneously tagging the plate for a run before swagger-walking off to a roar of cheers.
Devin we salute you, your keen baseball instincts and, of course, those ups.
