He may still be waiting to finalise his bumper Mercedes contract extension but Lewis Hamilton has been named the UK's richest sportsman for the second year in a row.
Hamilton lives as a tax exile in Monaco and his wealth has risen from £68m to £88m since last season, putting him top of the Sunday Times' Sport Rich List for 2015. The world champion is on the verge of signing a new deal with Mercedes which should comfortably make him the best-paid driver in the sport.
Former McLaren team-mate Jenson Button, with wealth estimated at £71m, has dropped to third behind England and Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney (£72m).
Rounding off the top ten are tennis star Andy Murray (£48m), footballers Rio Ferdinand ($44m) and Steven Gerrari (£42m), NBA player Luol Deng (£40m), football manager Jose Mourinho ($40m) and Manchester City midfielder Frank Lampard (£39m). Former Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and golfers Nick Faldo and Rory McIlroy are all listed at number ten with £38m.
