Jenson Button will miss qualifying in Canada after an ERS-related failure in FP3 forced an engine change in his McLaren.
Button pulled over to the side of the track with six minutes remaining in the Saturday morning session. McLaren racing director Eric Boullier confirmed to Sky Sports F1 an engine change would be required and would not be completed in time for qualifying.
Missing qualifying will mean Button is likely to start Sunday's race from the pit lane. It's another blow for McLaren and Honda after Fernando Alonso also moved on to his fourth engine on Saturday morning before FP3 - the Spaniard only emerged from the garage in the final ten minutes and completed just three laps.
Honda used two engine upgrade tokens ahead of this weekend's race, which it hoped would have as much impact on reliability as performance. Both drivers are now one engine change away from incurring a ten-place grid penalty.
JB's car suffered ERS-related failure towards the end of FP3. Our engineers are looking at data, but sadly his car won't be ready for quali.
