Mercedes has been reprimanded for covering the rear of Nico Rosberg's car after it broke down with a gearbox problem in first practice for the British Grand Prix.
The car stopped with a loss of hydraulic pressure as it came out of Copse and pulled to the side of the track. It was recovered by a flatbed truck, but as it was returned to the paddock the team covered up the underside and rear of the car, which contravenes a rule requiring teams not to cover up cars during race weekends.
Mercedes was reprimanded for its actions.
"The team covered car 6 after the car was returned to the paddock in P1 in breach of article 27.4," read an FIA statement.
