In what is surely the ultimate contest of man versus machine, Red Bull's latest PR stunt saw it test the power of its 2012 Formula One car against Bath Rugby's eight man scrum.
The resulting promotional video makes for great watching as the V8-powered RB8 spins its wheels in anger against a 900kg pack of professional rugby players. Daniel Ricciardo was behind the wheel of the 750bhp F1 car and said the experience had been like nothing else in his F1 career.
"I was excited about the challenge as it's definitely something I've never experienced before," Ricciardo said. "Seeing the rugby players take their positions behind the scrum machine right in front of me was somewhat...strange. But my competitiveness kicked in, the Honey Badger took over, and I was determined to beat them!"
England international tighthead Henry Thomas added: "It's not every day you get to do something like that. We love testing ourselves on the biggest stage but not many players can say they've scrummed down against a Formula One car."
Watch Red Bull trying its hand at winter sports when Max Verstappen took to the ski slopes of Austria in another of the team's show cars.
