Kimi Raikkonen has confirmed Ferrari did not run any upgrades on its car during practice for the Australian Grand Prix on Friday.
The Finn was also left frustrated by the lack of early running after a pair of wet practice sessions in Melbourne.
"The car we used today was exactly the same configuration we had in the last test, there were no new parts. We already had a good knowledge of the car so there were no surprises.
"It was a shame it rained because that slowed down our programme. We did some laps but we couldn't really push hard."
Raikkonen believes qualifying at Albert Park will give his team a clearer understanding of where their pace is relative to world champions Mercedes. Ferrari has been widely tipped as the team to bring an end to Mercedes' recent dominance after a successful pre-season and following a pair of wet Friday practice sessions, Raikkonen is eager to get to get on with the weekend.
"Tomorrow we'll be able to find out a bit more about our performance compared to Mercedes, we'll understand where we are in relation to them. But, there will be other teams in the battle at the front."
The Finn also feels that 2016's radio clampdown won't have too much of a bearing on drivers and the outcome of races, which provides a stark contrast to the likes of Nico Rosberg and Fernando Alonso.
"There are chances to have small issues and make mistakes but if things are going okay and there are no problems, I don't think there will be an issue."
"In an ideal world it shouldn't change anything."
