Pirelli will bring the hard, medium and soft compound tyres to the British Grand Prix.
The 2016 tyre regulations allow the tyre manufacturer to bring three compounds rather than two, as it was in previous seasons. While ten sets of the 13 available are chosen by the driver Pirelli sets aside one of each for a certain point in the weekend -- in this case it will be one set of softs for Q3 and a set of medium and hard for the race, one of which must be used during the grand prix.
The British Grand Prix, held this year on July 10, will be the second race to have the hard-medium-soft allocation after next weekend's race in Spain. Last year Pirelli brought the hard and medium compounds to the high-speed race.
