BARCELONA, Spain -- Nico Rosberg is unsure about Mercedes' policy to continue giving its drivers freedom to race despite their collision at the Spanish Grand Prix.

Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton collided at Turn 4 in Spain, taking both Mercedes cars out of the race. The stewards declared it a racing incident and the team refused to blame either driver, with team boss Toto Wolff saying it was "not clear cut" who was at fault.

Wolff also said he will continue the team's policy of allowing the drivers to continue racing, something Rosberg admits he is not happy about.

When asked about his thoughts on that subject, Rosberg said: "You say Toto says he's happy to let us race but I don't think happy is the right word. Maybe he has taken this decision but I'm sure happy is not the right word. Happy, for me, is really not the right word so I don't understand why you keep going with that.

"Let's see, what the discussions about future racing are, we haven't discussed that yet. I don't know."

Rosberg was visibly frustrated in his post-race media sessions, a contrast to the calm demeanour displayed by Hamilton. Speaking after the race, Rosberg did not know whether clear-the-air talks with Hamilton would be needed ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix.

"That is something I need to think about in the days to come. I can't tell you now. At the moment I am extremely gutted. It is very, very tough as it was my race to win. I am not just gutted for myself but gutted for everybody because we are one team, we are all together in this and I know how much they work for both these cars and for us to both end up in the gravel trap is the worst possible thing for the guys. So I am gutted for everyone."

Hamilton has said the incident will not change the pair's relationship.
