Red Bull boss Christian Horner says "robust procedures" will be put in place to ensure a repeat of the team's Monaco pit stop blunder is not possible.
Daniel Ricciardo missed out on victory at Monaco after a 13.6s pit stop shuffled him behind Lewis Hamilton as he switched from wet weather tyres to slicks. A mix up in communication between the pit wall -- situated above the garage in Monaco -- and the garage itself meant the mechanics were ordered to bring out a set of tyres that were being stored behind the garage. The delay in bringing the tyres to the front of the garage ultimately cost Ricciardo his lead and he rejoined the race behind just behind Hamilton.
"Yes, it was hugely frustrating, but afterwards it was never going to be a finger-pointing exercise," team boss Christian Horner said. "As I said after the race, we win and we lose together as a team. It's a question of understanding what went wrong, working as a team to solve the issue and then taking steps to ensure it doesn't happen again.
"In competitive sport you are always pushing right to the edge and that's what happened in Monaco. Now we simply need to make sure that robust procedures are put in place to cover any given scenario."
Horner said Ricciardo had struggled to come to terms with the result.
"Understandably, he was very emotional after the race and totally gutted to have put in such a great performance but not to have achieved the win. You can't turn the clock back, but you can address what's coming. He's third in the championship, he's heading to a venue that holds some fantastic memories for him and hopefully we can again give him a competitive car there."
