HOCKENHEIM, Germany -- Jenson Button has gone to hospital for a precautionary check-up after complaining of an eye irritation during second practice for the German Grand Prix.
Button completed just 16 laps in second practice before returning to the pits and getting out of the car. McLaren reported via Twitter that he had been taken to a hospital in nearby Mannheim for a precautionary check.
Jenson complained of an eye irritation during FP2, and has gone to Mannheim hospital to have a precautionary check-up.

Despite the eye problem, Button still managed to finish the session eighth fastest for McLaren. The Briton later confirmed he had the "foreign body" successfully removed from his eye and is fine to drive on Saturday.
